Hello,
My name is Kobi Mowszowski and I am the founder and director of Genesis Ed.
After graduating Year 12, I started worked for a company that trains generative AI models. The models I have trained are used by legal professionals and firms around the globe to assist them with professional tasks.
The thousands of hours I spent training generative AI models taught me how to use this technology effectively, the sorts of tasks it thrives at and struggles with, and how to critically evaluate and engage with its output. When I started my university degree (which coincided with the release of ChatGPT), I noticed that many people who were using generative AI models were using them for shortcuts, rather than as tools to facilitate deeper learning.
I was using ChatGPT to help me revise for a law school exam when I had a realisation: the technology at our disposal is advancing at a faster rate than students are learning how to use it. I thought back to VCE. With the generative AI-related knowledge and skills I have now, having access to these tools would have given me a significant boost in those final years of school.
Recognising that AI literacy skills are accessible and easily learnable, yet students still use these tools counter-productively, I had an epiphany: why not teach them these skills myself? And so, I founded Genesis Ed, embarking on a mission to equip secondary school students with the knowledge and skills to be competent, informed and responsible users of generative AI.
